Attendance to Conference and Seminar on Intellectual Property and Technology Commercialization

BPSU Research and Development Director Arlene D. Ibañez attended a two-day seminar and conference on Intellectual Property and Technology Commercialization with other representatives from member agencies of the Central Luzon Health Research and Development Consortium (CLHRDC) on May 4-5, 2010 at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel, Makati City.

Highlights of the event included the keynote presentation on “Cooperation Between Industry and University in the United States by Mr. Pat O’ Reilly, President of LES International. Other topics discussed focused on IP Strategy, Implications of Commercializing in ASEAN, IP Auditing, Licensing of Technology in Emerging markets, Technology Transfer Act and a Workshop on Intellectual Asset Management.

The event was sponsored by the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD) of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the Licensing Executive Society of the Philippines (LES-Phils) with the aim of bringing together professionals in the area of Intellectual Property and Technology Commercialization.
