Composed of two grants, academic scholarship aims to reward academically outstanding students with full and half tuition fee discounts.

University Scholarship

College students who excel academically are given University scholarships, entitling them to full tuition fee exemption. To enjoy this, students must have regular academic load, have general weighted average of 1.45 or better, and has no grade lower than 1.75 or INC in any subject at the end of the semester. A certification from the University/Campus Registrar stating the previous subjects and grades of the applicant must be secured for application during the enrolment period of every semester.


College Scholarship

College students with regular academic load, having general weighted average of 1.75 or better, and having no grade lower than 2.0 or INC in any subject at the end of the semester can avail College Scholarship. This grant entitles them to enjoy half tuition fee discount. A certification from the University/Campus Registrar stating the previous subjects and grades of the applicant must be secured for application during the enrolment period of every semester.


 
Enrollment Procedure for Freshmen PDF Print E-mail

Requirements:(1) Form 138 or form 137; NSO birth certificate; 1 piece ID picture (1.5 x 1.5); long brown envelope

Location: Registrar’s Office of the Campus

Fee: See schedule of Fees

Steps:

  1. Present the requirements to the Dean. The Dean will check the requirements. After checking, the Dean will return the documents to the student with the pre-registration form.
  2. Proceed to the Registrar’s Office for enlistment and submission of requirements. The registrar will issue assessment form indicating the amount to be paid.
  3. Pay tuition and other fees at the Cashier’s Office.
  4. Proceed to the Registrar's Office and submit Assessment Form with attached OR and other requirements.

BPSU GAD Team calls for logo design PDF Print E-mail

Purpose

The purpose of the contest is to design a logo for the Gender and Development Focal Point System of the Bataan Peninsula State University.  The logo will be used online, in print, on merchandise and other materials that will be produced by and used in any activities of the BPSU GFPS.

A.      Mechanics

1.      The contest is open to bona fide students and employees of Bataan Peninsula State University. CHRE and GAD members are automatically disqualified from the competition.

2.       Participants can be an individual or a group of individuals.

3.       Only one (1) entry is allowed per participant or group.

4.       Groups must be represented by one (1) Team Leader who shall fill out the Official Entry Form and receive the award.

 

B.      Submission

1.       Secure an Official Entry Form from the GFPS Campus Chairperson.

2.       Accomplished Official Entry Form, printout copy of the design, and explanations of the symbols in the logo must be submitted to the GFPS Campus Chairpersons:

Abucay Campus -              Ms. Ana Maria C. Buraga

4.       Deadline of submission of entry forms, print out and electronic copy of the logo design is on 30 April 2013.

 

C.      Logo Design Parameters

1.       The design must embody the following crucial concepts:

a.       Gender Sensitivity

b.      Gender Equality

c.       Gender Responsiveness

d.      BPSU Core Values (Excellence, Transparency, Honesty, Initiative, Creativity, Synergy, and Community spirit)

2.       The design must include the word “BPSU GFPS”.

3.       Logos can be designed manually, then scanned and converted into scalable vector in PSD or JPG format.  Participants may also use software applications to design the logo, then converted into the same formats.

4.       Minimum size of the logo in print: 1 inch wide and 1 inch high (for square shape) or 2 inches wide and 1 inch high (for rectangular shape).  If the design is wider than the aforementioned figures, the height should be increased proportionately.

5.       For the electronic format, the size should be not below 100 pixels.

6.       Initials of the participant(s) should not be included in the logo.

7.       Entries must not be similar to any existing logos or copyrighted images to avoid plagiarism and intellectual property charges.

Selection of Winners

1.       The BPSU GFPS reserves the right not to select a winner if no suitable entries are received.

2.       BPSU GFPS reserves the right to disqualify any entry at its sole discretion.

3.       A panel of judges duly constituted by the BPSU GFPS shall select the winning design.

4.       Judges shall come from external organizations to avoid bias.

5.       Logo designs shall be uploaded in the BPSU GFPS Facebook page in order to earn “Likes” from 01 May 2013 until 11:59PM of 15 May 2013, Philippine time.

6.       Criteria for Judging

Visual Appeal                                     -       30%

Symbolisms, Use of Color

in relation to crucial concepts        -       55%

Facebook “Likes”                             -         15%

                                                TOTAL      100%

Awarding of Winner

1.       Decision of judges shall be final and executor.  No appeal will be entertained once the winner is announced.

2.       Announcement of winner shall be made via Facebook post on 16 May 2013.

3.       Awarding of prizes shall also be announced via FB post, via email and SMS to the designer of the winning entry.

4.       The designer of the winning entry shall receive:

a.       Cash prize of Php20,000.00

b.      The right to be identified as the designer of the logo.

5.       Cash award shall be rewarded to the participant.  For groups, the cash award shall be given to the Team Leader.

6.       The winner shall be required to sign a contract assigning all ownership of the logo to BPSU.

7.       The winning entry shall be registered with the Intellectual Property Office and the National Historical Commission. 

 
Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila visits Aquasilviculture Project of BPSU PDF Print E-mail

Faculty members and staff from the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila-Center for University Extension Service (PLM-CUES) visited the Aquasilviculture Project of the University on February 19, 2013. The project, located at Barangay Kaparangan, Orani, Bataan, is a 3.4-million-peso mangrove rehabilitation project being undertaken by the University in partnership with the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR).

The team from PLM led by Dr. Eleanor Galvez, director of the PLM-CUES aimed to observe the practices of the University in implementing agriculture-related programs.
 
BPSU Enrols to the WIPO University Initiative Program PDF Print E-mail

Launched in 2002 at the request of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) members states, the aim of the WIPO University Initiative Program is to assist universities in developing their intellectual property and technology management capacity since universities play a vital role for the economic, technological and cultural progress of society. 

The Bataan Peninsula State University recognizing the need for IP protection and the need to respond to the call for innovation brought by the present academic climate enrolled to the WIPO University Program on October 3, 2012, a few months after establishing its University Innovation and technology Service Office (ITSO) in order to benefit from the world wide support of the World Intellectual Property Organization.  The program provides assistance in training on IP Technology Management, establishment of Technology Transfer Offices as well as IP Policy development so that the university benefit fully from the IP assets created by its researchers and IP creators.

The enrolment is expected to significantly improve the University’s industry collaboration aside from the trainings and management support that will be provided by the Program.  This is an opportunity for BPSU to find ways to finance research projects, disseminate knowledge and gain competitive advantage in negotiating with collaborating institutions.

Child of permanent BPSU employee

Both permanent BPSU employees and their child can enjoy 100% tuition fee discount when they pursue education in the University. A certification from the Office of the Administrative Services stating that the parent of the applicant (or the applicant himself) is a permanent BPSU employee must be secured for application during the enrolment period of every semester.


FSC/CSC President, CSC Vice President, CSC First Senator

Student leaders are also given privilege scholarships. The elected presidents of Federated Student Council and Campus Student Council can avail full tuition fee discount. Likewise, CSC’s vice president and first senator can avail the same privilege. A certification from the Office of Student Affairs stating that the applicant is duly elected FSC or CSC president, vice president or designated secretary must be secured for application during the enrolment period of every semester.


First Three Members of the Editorial Board of the Student Publication

Full tuition fee coverage can also be availed by major editors of the official student publication in each campus of BPSU. Three slots are available, specifically for editor-in-chief, associate editor and managing editor. A certification from the Office of the Student Affairs stating that the applicant is occupying a major position in the Editorial Board must be secured for application during the enrolment period of every semester.


1st Class Advanced ROTC Cadet

First class Advanced Reserved Officers Training Corps Cadets are entitled to full scholarship. A certification from the ROTC Commandant stating that the applicant is duly qualified and currently occupying the said rank must be secured for application during the enrolment period of every semester. However, maximum of five 1st class cadets can avail this privilege.


2nd Class Advanced ROTC Cadet

Second class Advanced Reserved Officers Training Corps Cadets are entitled to half scholarship. A certification from the ROTC Commandant stating that the applicant is duly qualified and currently occupying the said rank must be secured for application during the enrolment period of every semester. However, maximum of five 2nd class cadets can avail this privilege.
