At 10 o’clock in the morning classes were suddenly interrupted; faculty, employees and students ducked out of the classrooms and offices, as siren warned BPSU Main Campus of an earthquake. The campus ground, the safest place during such an event, was suddenly filled with people. It was not an actual earthquake scene but a drill conducted on July 10, 2012. Four identified evacuation sites within the campus were identified namely: front of ESF Building, sides of Sari-Gamit Court, front of Electronics shops and the open field in front of the engineering building. Simulation of rescue operation was also conducted during the drill.

The drill aimed to ensure the effective implementation of the safety measures during earthquakes. Five teams namely Fire Safety, Medical, Evacuation, Communication and Site Security, have been formed to oversee the safety measures during emergency in the campus.
