PAO Chief Acosta exhorts graduates of four BPSU Campuses

Attorney Persida Acosta, head of the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) was the speaker in the Commencement Exercises for Balanga, Dinalupihan, Orani and Bagac campuses held on April 2, 2014 at Bataan People’s Center.

She shared her experiences growing up in small town in Mariveles selling banana and camote tops to being a well-recognized Public Attorney by finishing Law through scholarships, by dreaming to becoming a doctor to being a public attorney and never leave the country as an advice by her mother. She said “Kung lahat ay aalis sa ating bayan sino pa ang aasahan ng bansang Pilipinas? Pero dahil kailangan po tayo, tulung-tulong sama-sama upang ipagtanggol ang hustisya at paunlarin ang ating bayan.”

And finally she urged the graduates to be a model citizen of this country and to never forget being a Filipino.

“Ang Diyos ang ating lakas, ang Diyos ang ating kakampi, kaya maging ang ating mga magulang ay ‘wag nating kalilimutan gayundin ang bayang ating sinilangan.”

Congressman Roman Romulo speaks at BPSU Main and Abucay Graduation 2014

Congressman Roman Romulo of the lone District of Pasig City was the guest speaker during the Graduation Rites of the Main and Abucay campuses held at Bataan People’s Center on April 4, 2014.

Speaking before more than a thousand graduates the congressman expressed: “Sana ma-realize ninyo that you are inheritors of a proud legacy, a legacy of courage. Sana mga graduates ang legacy na ipinasa sa inyo na ito ay di ninyo makalimutan sa susunod na yugto ng buhay ninyo at iyon ay paghanap ng mga trabaho. Di niyo sana makalimutan ang mga challenges, mga defeats na nadaanan ninyo, kayang tumanggap ng pagkatalo at bumangon pagkatapos. Kahit na may mga panahon na nakaranas kayo ng disappointments, challenges, bumangon kayo at humabol kayo sa umagang ito para makamit ang diploma galing sa BPSU.”

He also shared the news about the ASEAN Integration 2015 that will give more opportunities for Filipinos in looking for jobs. He closed his speech by quoting Carlos Romulo’s answer to a diplomat’s insult that he’s just a little man from a little country happened in 1948 at UN General Assembly by saying “It is the duty of the little Davids of this world to fling the pebbles of truth between the eyes of the blustering Goliaths and that’s you!”

“Ngayong 2014, ngayon ang Pilipinas kilala na sa buong mundo considered na tayong isang malaking bansa. Isang malaking bansa sa ekonomiya, malaking bansa na ngabibigay ng ating mga tao. Kaya kung 1948 nakaya nating tumayo at magyabang lalo ngayon na 2014 na dapat kaya nating tumayo, magyabang at sabihin ako ay graduate ng Bataan Peninsula State University, ako ay graduate ng Pilipinas!”
