Dr. Patricio S. Faylon, Executive Director of the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Forestry and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCARRD), together with Dr. Danilo C. Cardenas, the Deputy Executive Director of PCARRD, Dr. Oscar Opina of UPLB and selected Crop Research Division (CRD) staff of PCARRD came to Bataan last 19 February 2010 to visit the various science and technology-based farms (STBF) projects in Limay, Balanga, and Samal.

These projects, the mango farm in Limay, the pineapple farm in Samal, as well as the mango farm and goat raising project in the City of Balanga are all funded by PCARRD; hence, Dr. Faylon decided to conduct an ocular inspection to monitor their progress, especially that most of the projects have completed their respective first production cycle. The other STBF projects funded by PCARRD are the coffee production project in Orani, sweet potato production in Bagac, off-season tomato production in Hermosa, goat raising project in Mariveles, and the newly implemented pole sitao production in Dinalupihan.
