BPSU co-hosts SCITE 2012

The Student Society on Information Technology Education BPSU Chapter co-hosted with Bataan Heroes Memorial College the conduct of the 2012 Student Conference on Information Technology Education (SCITE) last February 1-3 at Louis Resort and Restaurant. The SCITE is an annual event of the Philippine Society of Information Technology Educators (PSITE) Region III Chapter. The SCITE aims to increase the youth's awareness in current and emerging ICT trends, promote global access to information and knowledge sources, and open learning opportunities and careers in ICT.

The three-day event was highlighted with plenary talks on various ICT topics from distinguished personalities in the IT industry, academe and government. Likewise competitions and fun games were also part of the three day event fostering camaraderie among its members.

Around 1000 delegates from region 3 provinces such as Bataan, Bulacan, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, and Zambales.

Volunteer faculty and students from the College of Information and Communications Technology organized the second day of the conference. Dr. Mercedes G. Sanchez, BPSU Vice President for Academic Affairs delivered welcome address in behalf of the University during the second day. (Report from the College of Information and Communications Technology)
